Beds Band Factory 2023

Key stage 3

The event is an absolute joy to have on the calendar. Hosted at the Connolly Hall in Redborne School, bands from the Middle, Secondary and Upper School Key Stage 3 age range demonstrate their abilities. The rules are ever-fluctuating with this event, where bands have been duets to a 9-piece band, with music from the Greatest Showman to Guns ‘n’ Roses.

We are incredibly fortunate to be sponsored by Times Table Rockstars, and this year’s winners, Alameda Middle School, received the equivalent of £500 to spend in their music department.

Second place prize went to Castle Newnham School who won a microphone and stand, from our second sponsor, the Rock Hard Music shop in Milton Keynes.

What students said when they were asked what they like about music:

“We like music because it’s creative”
“We can come together no matter who we are and just play, it’s a really fun experience”

“I love music because even if you don’t have lessons, it’s something everyone can do and everyone can enjoy. The teachers are really helpful and we wouldn’t have performed if it wasn’t for our teachers!”
