In autumn 2022 and spring 2023, we initiated a youth engagement research project aimed at addressing barriers, needs, and aspirations of young musicians through engagement with young people aged 13 years and above. The focus was on children and young people’s musical experiences and preferences, wanting to learn more about their participation trends, and informing us about how we can develop our provisions to represent their musical interests.

Local authorities team up to launch Music Hub

Music services from Bedford, Central Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes have teamed up to launch the Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes (BLMK) Music Hub from September 2024.

As part of an ambitious national programme to provide high-quality music education for all children and young people, the centre covers Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes.

Bookings open: Saturday morning Music Centre open day

We want to share the joy of music and will be opening the doors of our Music Centres for a free open day on 4 February 2023.  Our three centres in Ampthill, Biggleswade and Leighton-Linslade will be open to children and adults, both beginners and musical pros, to come along and have a go for free.  Come along and join us for a morning of musical fun.
